Three Books To Read Inspired by The Eternal Library Book Nook

Three Books to read inspired by the Eternal Library Book nook
I know it is spring but my country seems to have skipped that season and decided to stay a bit longer in Winter. Snow is piling up on the roof tiles and whatever green had started to sprout out of the ground after months of cold and darkened has yet again been buried under the blanket of white. I was going to make a reading list inspired by spring but since that is not happening anytime soon, here I am with my cuppa and blanket it only feels right to dive into some cozy-library-fireplace-hot tea-books. After spending a few days building by Eternal Library Book Nook I found it fitting to read something in it’s spirit. So here are a five books inspired by my latest Book Nook.
    .
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
    .
It has been a while since I read this book but as it was released in 2015.
    Genre: Fantasy/Adventure/ Alternate History
    Audience: YA
    .
Set in an alternative world where The Great Library of Alexandria controls the access to all knowledge and information. A world where private ownership of books is forbidden. (Hmm yeah this would def bring out the rebel and revolutionary in me),Jess Brightwell who comes from a family of book smugglers wants nothing more than to join the elite scholars at the Great Library. But as the saying goes, “be careful for what you wish for.” Once he is accepted he discovers there is more than meets the eyes and he gets dragged into a world of secrets and political intrigue and forbidden knowledge.”
The Great Library of Alexandria is something all of us (I hope) have heard about. It was once the centre of learning and knowledge for intellectuals all over the world. It’s reputation drew people from far and wide even to this day.
The burning of the Great Library of Alexandria has been under speculation over the centuries. It it not entirely a myth that the Great Library of Alexandria burned. There is evidence that suggests multiple fires at various points in history that caused damage and from ancient accounts. However the idea that the whole Library of Alexandria burned down in a single night is more of a myth that circulates.
    .
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
    .
    Genre: Magical realism/ Science Fiction
    Audience: +14, YA
    .
Life and Death. Heaven and Hell. But what if there was something in between where we would go. A limbo. But a limbo library? I don’t know about you, but I that is where I would hang out until eternity.
Well The Midnight Library follows our protagonist Nora Seed who finds herself in a state between life and death and finds a library. Every book in the library represents a different versions of her life.
As she is exploring the library she is given a chance to undo her choices and experience the lives she could have lived if she’d made different choices.
It is a poignant storytelling and it really makes you reflect at how we live our own lives, and how different would it have been if we had made on choice different. Been on time, shown up, not shown up, taken that chance, said yes, said no. I loved reading this book and It really gives an insight on how just a small decision can have such a butterfly effect on our lives.
    .
    Inkheart By Cornelia Funke
    .
    Genre: Fantasy/ Adventure
    Audience: Middle grade/ YA
    .
Maggie Folchart’s life is turned upside down when she finds out that her father has a secret ability that can bring books to life. (Please can I too?)
When her father Mo, reads out aloud, the characters and creature just jump out of the page (I’m looking at you Batboys)  But there is a very dark consequence. For every character and creature that comes to our world, someone from our world has to take their place. (Hold on a minute) This is something Mo learns at a great personal cost.
As they stumble upon a mysterious book called Inkheart and it’s villainous author Capricorn they must find a way to stop him from unleashing chaos on the world as they know it.
This book really is great for even younger kids and I believe it hs also bee made into picture film with Brendan Fraser! The movie is nice but as always, the book is better!
